I have an update.... 2010 started out rough for my family.. My husband and I separated, The boys and I packed up and moved back to my hometown to my parents home on very short notice. We left with just the clothes on our backs and a few of the kids special things. Everything else was left behind. We started over and am so grateful for the adversity that was presented in my life. I am who I am 1 year later because of what I have gone through. My children remain with me full time and they are thriving in our new life. I AM HAPPY. Here are a few photos to share to show you how much the children have changed and grown, and a few of me as well

The Biggest Loser

My local gym is hosting a "The Biggest Loser Contest" And Guess what I signed up!! and boy am I ever glad I did. This challenge will run 1o weeks . We are broken up into teams of 6. Within the team we try to get together for the work outs.. If we can't all make it at the same time we try to get in and make up the work out. It is great motivation, not only do I want to succeed and lose the weight I am trying to drop.. but I want to keep my team motivated..

We received a handout, with a breakdown of the work out in both a beginner and advanced.. I am beginner. Also in the hand out is goes into detail about how you should eat and gives numerous meal ideas. I feel like this was the push to get my motivation back.

At the end of the meeting we had our Weigh in... and you know what i was not in the least bit mortified to have my weight announced to the group.. I have worked hard to get to where I am..187lbs on my scales 188lbs on the gym scales.. I have a lot further to go and can not wait to hear the number being announced at the end of the 10 week program..

Here I am on the Leg Press.. making sure I have the right form, and my feet are where they should be.. Another Awesome advantage is that our progress will be documented both inside the gym, with our teams, our last chance work outs.. We will be venturing out for Cross Country skiing next week.. As a whole group.. Should be great!!!

I am also planning on picking up a copy of the Jillian Michales 30 minuet Shred DVD... and getting that incorporated into my routine..

I am so excited to share with you guys this review on the Comfy Joey Ring Sling. This sling is not only comfortable for both myself and my son Aiden . It is very stylish with the beautiful colours, fabric and the accent fabric on the tail of the sling. I find myself accessorising not only my hand bags and shoes but as a babywearing mama I now accessorise my baby carriers!!When the Ring sling arrived from Comfy Joey, I was so excited about the beautiful fabric, the blend of linen and cotton is so luxurious, especially after washes, and we have washed this sling many times. The fabric becomes soooo soft.

I find this ring sling is so comfortable not only for Aiden but for myself, This is the sling I use when we are out and about taking Seamus to karate, doing Groceries, taking Jacob for swimming lessons. Aiden and I are both comfortable and he is in the sling for extended periods of time. I like that because of the single layer of fabric there is no bulk. I put the sling on before we leave the house, I hardly notice I am wearing it. Then it is so super easy to cart around three boys.. I can "pop" Aiden into the sling in record time and be around to the other side of the car to let Seamus and Jacob out of their booster seats before they have a chance to squabble..

Body after Baby week 5...

Another week... I am in a rut.. Even though I have lost weight this week, I am not feeling as positive and motivated this week.. I need a good kick in the butt!!! to get me out of this rut. I weighed in today at 187lbs.. I am down 2lbs.. and I feel like big whoop!!

I signed myself up for the Biggest Loser Challenge at my local gym and the first meeting is tonight so i am hoping to get my motivation back.. I have been hitting the gym every other day and doing at the very least 30 min of physical activity at home,, Wii Fit, Jumping Walking, work out video .. was the plan of action this week.. But I am not in it.. if feel like I could care less and I don't push myself... SO tonight I am off to get that big kick in the but to get me back on track... I will update tomorrow how the Biggest loser is going!!

We rang in the New Years with Style this year!! My community hosts an annul fireworks and BBQ in the park for the kids. This was Aiden's first year, and he got toted around in style in his Momo Design House Sling. I got many compliments and many wow I wish I had one of those when my kids were babies. Body After Baby Week #4

It is true that getting in shape and staying there is a combination of many things. You have to want it, you have to have the desire to follow through until your new lifestyle becomes habit. You have to appreciate what you have accomplished and not return to your old ways. You have to make activity and nutrition part of your lifestyle, and you have to do it in a way where you look forward to it. It may not happen the first few weeks, but stick with it and it will fall into place.

I am a day late posting.. My Wednesday was more like a Monday Hectic, but I got a late work out done at the Gym. I find that if i miss a work out and I do try to get to the gym 6 days a week, that my body is craving for the challenge. I love it!!! I feel that by breaking old habits and making new ones that I am making a permanent change in my lifestyle. We were out and about the other day and a lunch I stopped at subway with the kids, I ordered a turkey on Whole Wheat, topped with yummy veggies, for the sauce I asked for light on the light mayo...big mistake, I could not eat the sub, I knew I should not have chose the mayo.. I am really strict with myself, I have this no fail attitude...I am going to loose this unwanted weight once and for all... I am staying positive and I know I can do it.

This Wednesday my weight was 189lbs....that's a 4lb loss. I have really busted my butt in the gym this week. I do a combination of weight training and cardio.. every other day I alternate between upper body weight training, and lower body weight training, along with cardio, then the other day I do only Cardio, and try to get in another physical activity...playing wii fit with the kids, Skiing, sledding, water aerobics, swimming, walking.. I am tyring to incorporate a new lifestyle. I want to be active with the kids... not just sitting on the side lines... The kids are really benefiting from this as well, they are active kids and love that I am up for Playing with them.. Seamus who is in grade two, wrote a sentence in school for spelling the word to use was "Mom". The sentence he choose to write was " My mom goes to the gym." They see the change not in weight but in energy level..

My goal for this week is to continue the work out schedule from the previous week. In weight training I am working on a pyramid system where we go from a lighter weight with 12 reps, adding weight as I go from 10, 8, 6 reps then drop the weights down to do a final 12 rep... My gym is offering a Biggest Looser Challenge in February.. I am going to sign up this week.. I like being accountable for my weight loss..

I want to add a few more varieties of foods to my diet. As I become more comfortable with what I am supposed to be eating, I want to add more food choices to keep it interesting.

Healthy Snacks... My eating schedule : 3 meals and 3 snacks..

My favorite snacks are

Yogurt
Almonds ( This post work out snack)
Apples ( tons of variety of apples)
Banana's
Dry Cereal (Kashi GO Lean, Special K Almond)
Tangerines

I will be adding some other snaking options and foods from the other Body After Baby Participants.. I especially want to try the baked pita bread with Salsa, and Banana Cream Pie Yogurt.. Keeping baby safe and secure.. I am not particularity fond of having strangers touch Aiden.. In a carrier I am able to keep him away from baby loving strangers.. There are soo many germs that it is calming to know that I am able to keep them away from Aiden

Bonding, I am more in tuned to Aiden than any of my other children and I credit this to babywearing. I know his cues and am able to soothe him in a moment.

Yes I made a New Years Resolution... I actually made the resolution on December 19th to follow through with it well into the new year.. I am living healthier, losing weight and getting into shape. I have lost 18lbs since December 19th and am pretty proud and determined to loose more....

This weeks Question
Why do you want to loose weight and or get healthier? What is your Motivation?
Basically my motivation is I want to be able to run and play with my boys.. I do not want to be the mom sitting on the side lines.. Since beginning this healthy lifestyle, I find myself with more energy and I am wanting to do more with the boys, We are going Skiing this Friday, Skating on Sunday, Swimming at the pool.... That is my motivation..

This weight loss business can be confusing to a first timer.. Do you cut calories, count them, total them up... Do you only focus on portion control and eating healthier foods.. I feel like I am at a crossroads trying to figure out my plan of attack against my Muffin top and Love Handles.. not to mention my ASS.. I want to loose weight the Healthy way.. I just don't want to commit to this regiment for the next 5 weeks.. I am making a lifestyle change. I have been watching all calories taken in and trying to stay with in a "safety zone" and you know what it is working.. but is it the right way !! I went to an information meeting for the Body for life at my gym...only to find out that there were not enough people participating so the BFL was cancelled at that location.. but on the positive side the owner of the Gym suggested that we spend some time together to get a fitness plan/ schedule to fit my goals for weight loss.. He also gave me some tips on Nutrition.. and stressed that I should be eating 6 times a day to keep my blood sugar levels stable.. That makes sense, Breakfast, snack, Lunch, snack, Supper, snack.... So I have a plan of attack... Watch out muffin top ...I am coming for you!!!!

I feel like this week went great.. I am staying positive about weight loss, I have exercised every day this week except Sunday.. Most evenings I am in the gym, but on the off night, like Monday night where getting to the gym was physically impossible. I spent 30 min on the wii fit.. I am determined to get this weight off and get fit. Now having a plan for my work out I am super excited to get back to the gym with my plan... This morning my Weight is 193lbs.. That's 4 lbs this week.. which is over and above my expectations!!! I feel confident that the weight is coming off in a healthy way.. So total weight loss during BAB is 9lbs.. My weight loss Journey began on December 19th and since then I have lost 18lbs...

Confessions.. I have been 100% been able to stay away from Pepsi, My confession is.. on Monday I picked up Pizza for the kids for supper and I bought them some Root Beer to drink... when we got home the kids ate their pizza, had their pop, and when I was cleaning up after supper I went to put things in the fridge the pop that was left in the bottle.. well I had a laps of judgement and poured a glass of this root beer.. I took a drink... came to my senses and dumped out the glass.. put the pop in the fridge.. left the kitchen, then immediately turned around and took the pop out of the fridge and dumped it out!!! Good Riddance...

Also there were about two days where I did not write down what I was eating... Big mistake.... it is easy to get into the routine but once you stop it is hard to continue to do it.. I have to write down everything, I eat and drink.... I need to be held accountable..

For my meals this week I am going to have 1 protein(Chicken, fish, ect) and 1 Carbohydrate(Baked potato, brown rice, whole wheat bread, ect) and a serving of veggies to at least two of my meals... I am also going to drink 10 glasses of water each day..

Body After Baby Challenge Week 2

I am participating in The Body After Baby Challenge, Hosted by Mama Notes, stop by to find out what its all about!!!

Week 2... and still going strong..

"What is your favorite part of your work out?" My favorite part is the feeling of accomplishment knowing that every work out I do is like money in the bank. It's an investment in myself... I also like playing the Wii Fit with my four year old.. I am looking forward to doing more active activities with my boys....

As far as my diet I am doing great... We had my birthday and my sons birthday this past week and I resisted the Cake.. I read a quote on one of the participating blogs.."Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"... although I had to repeat this many times while turning down the birthday cake... It feels great to know that I am in Control... I am writing down everything that I eat.. I am counting calories... paying attention to portion size and learning how to make myself eat 3 meals a day breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as incorporating snacks.. while staying in the Calorie safety zone...

Cereal is a great food for me High Fibre ....low in calories.. here is one of the cereals that I have been eating.. Kashi GO LEAN...

And of course the label..

Water, water every where,in the fridge, in the freezer, in the car, trunk of the car, gym bag, bedroom... Seriously It has been a challenge to drink more water.. I am trying desperately to make this a habit... I do not drink any other beverages.. Water it is.... How much water should a person drink in a day?

I have signed up at the local gym, and have also signed up for the Body For Life which is a 12 week program that starts soon... Looking forward to it and I will keep you updated. I have been doing a work out pretty much everyday. If I don't get to the gym I do Wii Fit..

My weight today is 197lbs.. That is 3 lbs lost this week..

Total weight loss since starting Body after Baby is 5 lbs....

Body After Baby Challenge Week 1

I feel like I have been doing great with this challenge. I am so freaking serious about loosing this weight and being able to run and play with my boys..

What I have accomplished this week..

Being more aware of food labels.. one thing that has bothered me since New years Eve.. The do not post nutritional labels on alcohol beverages.. seriously.. I had a few drinks to ring in the new year.. Mikes Hard Lemonade X 3... there are 22o calories in each one...That is 660 calories... I really only found out this morning that was what is in them... I had to look it up.. I new that they obviously had calories I was just shocked to realize how many..
Writing down everything that I eat, along with watching portion and serving sizes, and jotting down the calories and watching my calorie intake. I am doing great with this and It is really making me think about what I eat.. I bite it I write it...
Wii Fit Everyday for 30 minuets and then I usually end up playing it with the kids for a few minuets just to give them a challenge.. I love it
I go into the local Gym Thursday to sign up for a gym membership.. for 3 months here it will cost me $93 very reasonable.. Also the gym is starting a Body for Life Challenge within the next two weeks.. I am registered it is a 12 week program... I want to try to get to the gym....let me rephrase that I Will get to the Gym 3 times a week.. more if it is physically possible with the challenge of having someone watch the boys..
Cereal is my new best friend. take a look at the labels.. High fibre, and low calories..
I have almost beat my Pop Pepsi addiction.. They say ( not sure who They are...but this is what they say) it takes 30 days to break a habit... almost there I have cut out Pepsi 100% out of my life...although I have to leave a room if someone else is drinking it...I am very proud of myself.

What I need to work on..

Water...Water....Water... I am drinking about 1.5 litres of water daily I need to drink more than that.. I have to keep the water bottle with me at all times..
Getting my butt into the gym and burning off calories..This is what I am working on this week.. I need a fitness plan.
Oh I realized this week that I eat way to fast.. I think I have Clean your Plate on the brain... I have to take my time eating drink water after each bite maybe,, I have to slow down...
Also I have to work on planning in advance the three meals a day and having snack as well to keep my metabolism from dropping down.... and keeping it within the calorie intake plan.
I also want to pick up a copy of The Biggest looser book that has been mentioned.. for anyone who has this book..Do you find it helpful?

My Current weight is 200lbs even.. yah!! that's what I am talking about...

Types of Carriers

Ring Sling ~ A carrier that is a piece of fabric with 2 rings attached at one end. The fabric is threaded through the rings to make a pouch part for the baby and a tail which can be adjusted. More versatile than a pouch as it can be adjusted and worn by different size wearers.

Wrap ~ Is the simplest baby carrier it consists of a long piece of fabric. The most versatile of all baby carriers on the market. A wrap can be used to carry your baby in almost any position imaginable, front, back, either facing you or facing away from you, or on your hip. Wraps are completely adjustable and can be worn by different size wearers based on your wrapping style.

Asian Style Carriers (Mei Tai) ~ The Mei Tai carrier consist of a square piece of fabric with long straps on all four corners. These carriers hold your baby to the front or back of your body, using the four long straps to secure your baby. Mei Tai's work well for infants and toddlers and can be worn by different size wearers.

Pouch ~ A pouch is a tube of fabric with a curved seam sewn in the middle providing a pouch for baby to sit in.. Most pouches are custom fit for the wearer.. although adjustable pouches are now available. A pouch is convenient as it had the least amount of fabric as the ring slings or the wraps making it easy to fold up and have in a diaper bag.

You can also find soft structured carriers on the market as well Ergo has become a very popular brand of these carriers.

Body After Baby Challenge 2010

So I have been doing quite a bit of reflecting these past few weeks.. I need to make some changes.. I need to make myself a priority and take care of my body.. I want to be able to play with my kids and have fun with them...not just watching form the sidelines.. I want to get in there and play...It starts with ME. Mamma Notes Body after Baby Challenge comes at a great time for me while making the decision to take care of my self Mind Body and Soul... I want to loose some baby weight from Baby #1, #2, and #3..

I was 20 when I had Seamus and on Delivery day I weighed 138lbs... Seriously...What I would give to see 138 on a Scale again. Jacob Came along and On Delivery Day I weighed 185lbs.. I would love to see 185lbs again.. Along came Aiden and on Delivery Day I weighed 230lbs... Today my Current Weight is...202lbs...

I feel relieved to get that off my chest.. I am now accountable....

My Goals for this 8 Week Program Are

To get Smart about food labels.. If I don't buy it..I won't eat it..

Drink lots of water.. keep Bottles of water on hand at all times

No more Pop*

To Exercise Daily. Wii Fit*, Fitness DVD, Put on a dance CD and Dance with the kids for 30 minuets.

To Loose 20lbs

*Pop..Pepsi has been my best friend and worst enemy for the past 7 years. I would drink about 1 litre of Pepsi a day. On December 19th I decided to make a decision and stop Drinking all pop products. I had a day where I drank one glass of pop and I am back on the wagon.. I am trying to drink more water and Tropicana Calcium Orange Juice.
* Wii Fit has so kindly let me know that I am overweight... Also My Wii fit age is 43... I am 27 soon to be 28 years old..wow..

When comfort is Needed....SayWrap! Sarah is the crafty Momma behind the Scenes at SayWrap a unique Etsy Shop that I am super pleased to have come across while getting geared up for the Babywearing Event.

I had a chance to review a SayWrap and what I like about this carrier.. Is first off how the product arrived.. It was Secured with hemp twine and beads..attention to details..it was a great first impression of SayWrap. Second is how light the wrap is. it was so comfy.. I carry Aiden quite a bit throughout the day while we are home and doing well...everyday things..getting Seamus on and off the bus... getting Jake ready for the day..cleaning, and blogging... this wrap was great, I did not find it at all too warm for use inside the house..the material was breathable... The material used is 100% ORGANIC lightweight Jersey Cotton, the edges are unfinished as Jersey Cotton does not fray, I was a little hesitant popping this wrap in the wash..but low and behold it was fine, and does quite well in the wash. My guy seams to suck on the fabric while he is being chauffeured around. So I need a wrap that can hold up to the washing machine.

A wrap can be overwhelming for a first time user. Practice... get your wee one settled and practice with her or him... Support your baby until you feel confident with the wrap or hold that you have chosen.

I had a few questions for Sarah about her product and her view on the benefits of Babywearing

1. What inspired you to start your own business?
First, my baby, Evan. He was born March 13 of this year and I have been doing anything to avoid going back to work full time. Second, the wrap. After making my own wrap when he was about 2 months old, I was amazed at how helpful and comforting it was for both me and Evan. So, I put the two reasons together and would love to be able to help as many parents and babies as possible while making a little money at the same time.

2.What sets the SayWrap apart?
Most wraps are either very stretchy or not at all. The jersey cotton I use is in the middle. It's stretchy to be very comfortable for the newborn, but has a strength to support the older infant as well. My material is lightweight which keeps both carrier and baby cooler. They are also individually made with love from a SAHM:)

3.As a parent what benefits have you experienced from wearing your baby?
Oh, my. Where do I start? I love knowing that my baby is comfortable. Truly comfortable. Being worn must be the closest to being back in the womb there is. Wearing Evan helps calm him down if he's agitated, helps him handle new situations better, helps put and keep him asleep, and he just likes it! When he sees me putting my wrap on, he gets all smiley and happy!
It has also benefited me personally in many ways. It allows me to get things done around the house without hassle. It makes going out or shopping so much easier. (No worries about gross shopping cart seats!) And I don't have to worry about lugging around a big awkward stroller. (Which I did a couple times when he was a newborn, and I felt so silly and cumbersome) Also, I am an "attached" parent and I honestly just love having him right next to me; content. And now that he weighs a bit more, wearing him is a definite back saver. All in all, it makes me happy that I can do anything with him by my side; and he's happy to be there.

My family spent the Holidays at my Parents home and it worked out that all the sisters ( I have 3) My little brother and their families were all together.. It was definitely a full house. Babywearing simply means carrying your baby or toddler in a sling wrap or other type of carrier.

My son Aiden is almost 7 months old and I have enjoyed the convenience of Babywearing with him. I am an everyday mom trying to maintain a household filled with two very active rough and tumble boys ages 4 and 7 and a 6 soon to be 7 month old. The reality was that I did not have enough hands.. That is where babywearing has save me . I was never one to tug around a car seat or push my kids away from me in a stroller. I always preferred to hold the boys close to me.. I am surprised that I was not aware of the benefits of babywearing or the options and variety of carriers with Seamus and Jacob.

I started out looking for a Moby wrap I had heard so many great things about them, I went to the only store on our island that Sells the Moby and was very surprised at how much time they gave to me in helping me select the Moby, they wrapped themselves, and then wrapped me. I was encouraged to PRACTICE!! and I did. I have to admit I was intimidated at first with the massive amount of fabric. Once you are comfortable with the types of holds and how to wrap it is not an issue.

Take the time and get comfy with your carrier of choice, Get in front of a mirror and get wrapping or slinging.

Hubby is away again, on a business trip....He left for Calgary Alberta, Monday Morning.. The boys are quick to stake out their spots in our King size bed... 6 month Update

Aiden was 6 months old on the 12th of December. Where do the months go? My baby is 1/2 a year old. sniff. sniff..
Still no teeth.. Seriously...
Aiden is now sitting up on his own
When on the floor he will roll to get to where or what he wants. Aiden is very vocal and in constantly jabbering away..I love it!!!.
He is developing his own playful attitude. He loves when Seamus comes home from School to play with him.. Aiden absolutely loves Jacob and is always trying to get his hair in his hands..Jacob on the other hand is keeping his distance. Aiden is very much aware of the people around him, and is very social.

We are getting ready to celebrate Aiden's First Christmas. And Looking forward to what the new year has to bring us, as they boys continue to grow.

Seamus is making his living these days from the money he is collecting from the tooth~fairy. He will be 8 years old in January and is now just loosing his teeth.. He was the last one in his class to loose his first tooth.. He claims he worked hard getting those teeth out!! Do you know how many time I wiggled that tooth?

I made the decision to make our own baby foods for a multitude of reasons. One of the main reasons being that I was not entirely sure what was in the food. Second main reason was the cost.

Convenience... The packaging makes this product so easy to take along. toss one in the diaper bag along with a spoon.. easy.

I am unsure about my opinion on the packaging, we try to purchase packaging that is recyclable when possible. This packaging is not recyclable, also It is really difficult to get all the food out of the packet.

Now for the Question we all are waiting to hear...

What does Aiden Think? He Loves it!!!... Everything seemed tasty to him especially the bananas.

Moms point of View. Sprout Baby Foods is definitely a product that I would purchase. I am still committed to preparing home made baby food, but I do like the option of having Sprout Baby Food on hand for quick on the go moments, I like the ease of having the pouches in the diaper bag.

Christmas Wreath How To!

I am going to attempt to show YOU!! how to make your very own Christmas Wreath. I make the wreaths out of Fir Boughs that I cut myself from our own back yard. We are very fortunate to live in the country and we have access to our neighbours wood land. Always check with the land owner and get permission before cutting fir. I have also noticed that you can conveniently purchase the boughs from fresh tree stands or tree farms for a price. I however prefer the free do it yourself option. Key word being free.. It also gives me an excuse to have an Adventure with my son Jacob see here to read about our adventure in the woods.
Step One
Find the fir trees...check
Sect Branches and determine where to cut... When making the decision where to cut, I always count at least three sections down on the branch.. It very much depends on the branch. If the branch is full cut as far down as you can, you can use the bottom section as filler when working with branches that are not so full.

From the tip of the branch showing where I would make the cut.
The bough.. this is a nice full branch. I make the wreaths double sided, and make as many as 20 wreaths depends, sometimes more if requested.
Step 2 get your materials ready...Check

Wreath Wire Frame... I have a local metal shop make these for me costs $15 fro 2 dozen. They can be purchased at a wreath making company as well. I also ask Friends and Family to save the wire for me and I will re use the wire frames.

Wreath Wire.. This can be purchased at your local craft store. relatively inexpensive.. tip.. I buy it after Christmas and take advantage of the boxing day or end of season sales...

Pruners (snips). We use these for pruning our shrubs as well these can be purchased almost everywhere.. Home Depot, Wal marts..ect.. They range in Price from $8- $30.
Step 3, Get your Wire Started...Check
You will need a lead of wire and I would recommend that you tie something to the end because the wire can go missing among the wreath... You will need the lead to be at least 9" you will use this to finish off the wreath and to make the loop... to hang your wreath. To start the wire simply wrap around the frame twice. With the roll of wire in the center of the frame.

Step 4... Choose the Boughs... Check

I separate the boughs into two sections

To use on the top or face of the wreath. (top)
To use on the back of the wreath (bottom)

The picture above would be considered TOP.. As it is a full bough.

The picture above would be considered the Bottom. It is noticeable in Rough shape.. Any bought that is not full or is rough looking will be place in the Bottom pile to be used on the back of the wreath.
In the picture above I am showing where to clip or snip a bough, when it is a larger fuller branch, You make the cut (shown above) and then place the bottom portion behind a bough that is not quite as full (Shown Below)

Step 5..Lets get this Wreath started...Check.

To start the wreath (You always begin with the top/face of the wreath) select 3 top branches, and hold in your hand place on the wreath with the bottom of the boughs where the wire has been started.

Wrap the wire around three times
Pulling tight on the wire. You want it snug.
Your wire should now be on the out side of the frame.

Step 6...Flip..Check

You want to now flip the wreath over to the Back-side of the wreath and then choose three boughs from the bottom pile.

Continue the same way wrapping the wire around three times pulling tight.

When you are finished you will flip to the front and work from the front to the back.

Step 7. Keep the ends trimmed.. Check

I keep the ends of the boughs trimmed as I work. If find it is a neater finish. see picture below showing where I make the cut

Step 8..Lets Wrap it Up.Check

Finishing the wreath can be a bit tricky and can take a couple of tries to get it right. When I get close to the end(see below) I start making the boughs a bit fuller on the front of the wreath adding one or two more boughs to each bunch.. You have to be careful not to get the wire caught up in the wreath and pull down other branches.
Step 9. Tie one..check

When you get to the end you want to leave a tail of wire the same length as the lead of wire, you want to tie a not all all the way to the frame of the wire( or as close as you can get to the boughs). You will want to hold the wires up and spin the wreath to combine the wire. You will then want to create a loop simply take each wire and wrap around the frame.
Step 10 Mark the loop. with a piece of colourful ribbon, fabric, paper.. Trust me you can loose the loop in the wreath. ( see photo above)

Step 11..Choose your Bow ..Check
I buy the Bows at the Dollar store ( I cheat a little) If you are crafty and make bows go for it they will look great on your wreath.

I have to vamp up the Dollar store Bows because they will not hold up to the elements such as Wind... I simply reinforce the bow with wreath wire and wrap it around the wreath frame making sure to put the wire underneath the boughs.

And secure it in the back...
Taaaadaaa.. Finished product.. At the this point you can trim the wreath, but I prefer to have them a little wild!!!

My Answer:

NO not ready yet. We get a real Christmas tree we will be heading to the woods ( tree farm) to pick out our tree and cut it down over the weekend, we will probably put it up sometime during the week. Shopping is done, I did a lot of shopping online and had it delivered to my Mom's who is wrapping everything for me. (Thank you Mom).So getting there but not ready yet!!

Adventure in the Woods Today

My sister Katie and her dog Kilo, My son Jacob and I spent the day in the woods today. It was a perfect day. There was Snow on the Ground, we had a thermos of Hot Chocolate (snowman soup), a sleigh and headed out to the wood to gather "Island Fir" from Evergreen trees. I make Christmas Wreaths every year and I have to admit this year I am behind schedule but I will have them all done this week. I will be posting a tutorial of sorts regarding the process. here are a few photos from our day.
Katie, Me and Jacob it was cold... until we got into the shelter of the trees. We trudged through the snow.. My legs are still aching... Jacob was a trooper and walked the almost the whole way.. I figure he will be in bed early tonight with all the fresh air today!!! :)
Jacob in a nook. We had snow on Sunday today being Tuesday everything was covered with snow it was truly beautiful out there today!
Katie and Kilo.... These two are inseparable... Kilo goes everywhere with Katie, she even goes to work with her. She is such a well behaved dog, she is very obedient. Katie spends alot of time training her and she is never with a leash because she has been trained to walk next to Katie on Command. They have an amazing connection.

We came home and the wood stove was going so the house was all cozy..nothing better than walking in from the cold with red cheeks and cold hands and warming up next to a wood stove... with a cup of Hot Chocolate (snowman soup).

My sister Jenna stayed at the house with Aiden, and I am very thankful to have such a great sister who will take time out of her day and come spend time with my little boy so I can get out and get some things done.

Spaghetti& Meat Balls Yum Yum

Meat balls anyone, I make these plain very easy to make meatballs, I make enough so that I can freeze some. You can use these particular Meatballs for Spaghetti and Meat Balls, Sweet and Sour Meat Balls, or BBQ Meatballs.. It is all in the SAUCE. This time around I made them and then used up some Spaghetti Sauce.

What you will need

Single Batch

1 lb Ground Beef ( I use a medium when making these meatballs only for the fact that I find it easier for the kids to eat them they turn out softer. I am always worried about the kids choking.. They turn out great with Lean Ground Beef as well, just my preference.)
1 Egg (large)
1 large onion diced
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
1/4 cup Milk (we use 2% but whole milk or skim milk will be fine
Salt and pepper A shake and a Dash!!

Mix it up... I just use my hands to mush it together. Get it all mixed up
Then you are ready to form your Meat Balls. make them what ever size you prefer, just try to keep them uniform in size , we are going to bake these guys and we want them to cook evenly.
WASH HANDS.. you can never wash your hands enough when you are handling any raw meat, Hot water and soap...Scrub em up!!!
Bake Meat Balls at 325 degrees, for about 20 min. Till they are a nice brown toasty colour. careful not to OVERCOOK... Take em out and you can put them on a cooling rack let em cool and Freeze them to use later. Keep some out for Dinner tonight we are having Spaghetti and Meatballs. I had a tomato base Sauce on hand and I added meatballs and simmered for about 1 1/2 and away we go, Cook some spaghetti and Voila.. Dinner!
Kid Tested and Approved
It is great to have these in the freezer, very easy to come home and have a delicious meal ready in no time, also great to take Sweet and Sour meatballs to a Potluck dinner.

Not Me Monday

This will be my first not me Monday post, I had to participate this week and look forward to contributing to the not me Carnival.

I did not witness my son take a nose dive off a chair in our living room which does not have HARD wood floors. My son was not sitting on the chair with his his legs and arms tucked neatly in his t-shirt while perched on his butt and his feet, he did not loose balance and do a free fall on his cute little nose unable to brace himself due to his arms and legs tucked in. I was not coming up the basement stairs to witness this event, unable to stop him, I was not able to contain my laughter at the sight of my son still all tucked up within his shirt, on the floor, unable to get up. I did not have to pick up Jacob from the floor. His nose was defiantly not bleeding and he is definitely not deathly afraid of blood. The sight at our home was not that of a Mother who was Hysterically laughing, while trying to console a hysteric 4 year old with a bloody nose.

This sequence of events also did not include a phone call to my husband to let him know that Jacob had an accident and then me defiantly not cracking up laughing, I did not have to resort to a text message to tell Scott about the incident and then to let him Know that Jacob was fine, and that the nose was not Broken.

I defiantly do not still find this funny and still can not contain my laughter. Jake having a snooze with his beloved stuffie.. Moseie

Pizza Rolls

This is my first attempt at a recipe, I hope that you give these a try. We make these in abundance for the Holidays. I like to make them and then freeze them by the dozen. I give these along with other Christmas goodies to family and friends. The are very easy to reheat simply put them in the oven at 375 and heat until they are hot!.

Pizza Roll Filling.

1 lb Ground Beef
1 pkg Bacon
1 large Onion
1 cup (Diced)Ham
1 cup (Diced)Peperoni
2-3 cans Pizza Sauce
2 cup Grated Cheese

I brown the ground beef with onion, and then cut up the bacon and fry or vice verssa. Cut up the ham, and Peperoni into small pieces.
Combine everything together meat, sauce, and cheese in a bowl.

Tada Filling is done.

You will need a package of Egg Roll Wraps and egg whites.

To Make the Pizza Rolls take one Egg Roll Wrap and wet the edges with egg white

Put 1 tsp of filling into the centre

Turn one side over and press down the edges firmly you want t o create a seal.
Then flip the other side over completing the Roll... Press down those edges you do not want these to come undone.
Here is the photo of the other side.

When you are finished getting your pizza rolls all filled up you will then need to Fry (yes i said Fry) these bad boys up. You will need to fry them in a deep fryer until they are a golden brown..

Careful they are hot!!!.. Kid tested and approved.

These are great to have on hand in the freezer. I make a double double batch at a time. These are a real hit over the Holidays, I have to be careful not to announce when I will make these or I will have family spontaneously dropping it to help out with Quality Control.

I received this story in an email a while a go and came across it
today, 
I thought I would share it and see if you all find this humorous.


A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM
If you read this without laughing out loud, there is
something
wrong with you. This is dedicated to everyone who ever
attempted
to get into a regular workout routine.

Dear Diary,

For my birthday this year, my daughter (the dear)
purchased
a week of personal training at the local health
club for me.

Although I am still in great shape since being a
high school
football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would
be a good
idea to go ahead and give it a  try.


I called the club and made my reservations with a
personal trainer
named Belinda, who identified herself as a 26-year-old
aerobics
instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear.

My daughter seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get
started!
The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my
progress
MONDAY:

Started my day at 6:00 a.m. Tough to get out of bed, but
found it was
well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find
Belinda waiting
for me.She is something of a Greek goddess - with blonde
hair,dancing
eyes and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!! Belinda gave
me a tour and
showed me the machines. I enjoyed watching the skillful
way in which she
conducted her aerobics class after my workout today.
Very inspiring!
Belinda was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although
my gut was
already aching from holding it in the whole time
she was around.
This is going to be a FANTASTIC week-!!

TUESDAY:

I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it
out the door.
Belinda made me lie on my back and push a heavy
iron bar into the
air then she put weights on it! My legs were a
little wobbly on
the treadmill,but I  made the full mile. Belinda's
rewarding smile
made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT-!! It's a whole
new life for me.

WEDNESDAY:
The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the
toothbrush on the
counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it.
I believe I have a
hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as
I didn't try to
steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the
club parking lot.
Belinda was impatient with me, insisting that my
screams bothered
other club members. Her voice is a little too perky
for early in the
morning and when she scolds, she gets this nasally
whine that is VERY
annoying. My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill,
so Belinda put me
on the stair monster. Why the Hell would anyone invent
a machine to
simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators?
Belinda told me
it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. She said
some other shit too.

THURSDAY :

Belinda was waiting for me with her vampire-like teeth
exposed as her
thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl.
I couldn't help
being a half an hour late, it took me that long to
tie my shoes.
Belinda took me to work out with dumbbells. When she was
not looking,I
ran and hid in the restroom. She sent another skinny
bitch to find me
Then, as punishment, she put me on the rowing
machine -- which I sank.

FRIDAY :

I hate that b***h Belinda more than any human being has
ever hated any
other human being in the history of the world. Stupid,
skinny, anemic,
anorexic little cheerleader. If there was a part of
my body I could
move without unbearable pain, I would beat her with it.
Belinda wanted
me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps!
And
if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me t
he damned barbells
or anything that weighs more than a sandwich. The treadmill
flung me off
and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher.Why couldn't
it have been
someone softer, like the drama coach or the
choir director?

SATURDAY :

Belinda left a message on my answering machine in her
grating, shrilly
voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing
her made me
want to smash the machine with my planner. However,
I lacked the strength
to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven
straight hours of
the Weather Channel.

SUNDAY :
I'm having the Church van pick me up for services
today so I can go
and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray
that next year
my daughter (the little shit) will choose a gift for me
that is fun --
like a root canal or a hysterectomy. I still say if
God had wanted me
to bend over, he would have
sprinkled the floor with diamonds!!!

Kitchen Tidbit

I am by no means a professional chef, I do however enjoy being in a kitchen, cooking an baking yummy things for my family and friends to eat. Along the way I have picked up some very useful items that have helped me out tremendously in the kitchen making things go a little smoother.

Before deciding to stay at home with my children I was a Purchasing Agent for a Restaurant Supply Company and one thing that I would strongly recommend to anyone is to check out their local Restaurant Supply Store for top Quality at a low price. Everything from Professional Cookware, Knives(Z.W.Henkle, Wustoff, Victorinox) appliances(Kitchen aide, Robocoupe) to top quality cutlery and dishware.

My kitchen Tidbit today is the Vollrath Dishers, Used in restaurants for portion control, used in my home the same way we do a lot of baking cookies, muffins, etc. I use a small(violet) disher when making cookies and meatballs. It keeps them all the same size which is key for baking times, you want a consistent size. I use a medium(red) Size disher when making muffins, easily scoops the batter, and all the muffins are the same size.

Home~MADE for the Holidays.

Seriously how cute are these little ornaments? We try to give Homemade gifts through the holiday Season. The kids make ornaments and other nicknack's to give to family, teachers and friends. I came across these little Beauties on Martha Stewart. This will be our Saturday adventure for sure, Buttons and Pipe Cleaners...

I will be heading out this weekend to gather some Island Fir from the Woods to make my Christmas Wreaths, I usually end up making about 23 of them, the list does get longer every year. I will have to do a picture Tutorial of the Christmas Wreath making.

Also we give goodies such as brownie mixes in decorative bags, Snowman Soup for the Kiddies (hot coco). I will be busy in the kitchen for the next few weeks putting together Pizza Fingers, Meat Pies, Christmas cookies, and Spaghetti Sauce and meatballs. As much as I enjoy being in the kitchen and cooking for my family and friends, I love sending them home with food...I like to Feed People!!

Money Does Not Grow on Trees

When is a good time to start talking to your kids about money?
Seamus (7) and Jacob(4) are both very much aware of what money is. I want them to be smart about Money, but I don't want to scare them.. I talk to them about the cost of items. For example when grocery shopping I will compare the price of a name brand apple sauce cost $2.69, and the generic brand cost $2.39. I will discuss the difference in Prices, The product that we are purchasing and and the total amount saved.
When running into the grocery store to pick up Milk and a few other items that we ran out of, the total came to $30 at the check out I asked him if he thought $30 was alot of money and YES he thought $30 was a lot of money, I asked him then if he thought we bout a lot of items with $30 and he said No. We had purchased Milk, Bread, Bananas, Toilet Paper and Laundry Detergent. 5 items in the check out and the we paid approximately $30. I think that he needs to be aware of the cost of everyday items.
I remember being out on my own for the first time and the shock at the cost of the necessities.

Just this past Saturday evening the boys (Ashton (9) and Seamus) were looking through the Numerous Christmas catalogues, discussing their choices for their Christmas Wish Lists. Seamus pointed out a toy "transformer" and said well it only cost 29.99, and Ashton said with out a second thought "plus taxes". Seamus was like what are taxes?

One thing that I have to start doing is paying for items with cash other than with the ever convenient Debit Card. They see the Two Weeks worth of Groceries and me Swiping a card, they don't always see the "Cash".

As I am writing this review my little guy Aiden is snug in bed with no other than his GAD(Green Acre Designs) Cloth Diaper on..... and am I worried that he will spring a leak through the night? Not in the least. I am 100% sure that GAD will stand up to this heavy wetter.

I was a little worried when I received the "Fluff Mail" containing this beautiful diaper... I for sure thought that it would be too small. When deciding on what size to get for Aiden I used the size chart on the GAD website, I felt confident that I chose the right size... Medium for my "big" little guy...the diaper just seamed so small.

After trying the Medium on Aiden I was shocked that it fit with room to spare (we are on the second snaps) This diaper is sooo Trim Fitting.

I have been working on blending foods together for little Aiden to give him some more options in food. My first attempt was his two favorites Avocado and Banana.. Yummy.. he loves it. Back to the kitchen today to create a few more options for him..
I love making his foods for him. I love looking in the freezer and seeing the freezer bags full of yummy goodness, sweet potato, squash, pears, peas, carrots, peaches.
I am going to continue blending flavors together, one of the first things I want to do is make apple sauce, and blend flavors together with apples... the possibilities.. hahaha :)

My sister Katie is home and we could not be happier. She moved from Calgary to PEI. He K-9 friend Kilo came home with her as well. WE have missed them both, she was home in October and shortly after returning she decided that she wanted to be home!!..

Katie is the free spirit in our family, she walks into a room and kids just gravitate towards her, at anytime you will find her sitting in the living room on the floor with the kids guitar in hand her dog by her side and singing away, she has a kind heart.

It has been a busy week, Katie flew into Halifax Airport, which is 3 hour drive from our home, we went to pick her up, then we got her settled into her apartment out at the farm. Katie will be working at the stables again, doing what she loves..working with the horses and getting things into order there!

We went grocery shopping and it is so weird to shop with someone who is shopping for only them selves. When I go shopping I ponder every decision, compare prices. She sees something she gets it no questions asked.. $20 for shampoo and conditioner...do you know what I could buy with $20.

To be Young and Carefree....

It is good to have miss Katie home. We might get to have a night out having a reliable babysitter living so close.....

Nuby Natural Touch Products

I am seriously loving Nuby products. I had the opportunity to try two Items from their Nuby Natural Touch Line.

The first item was the Soft Flex silicone Nurser. What a great product, I wish that I would of had this bottle when WE were in Transition from breast to bottle, I felt that it would be better suited for that. I recommend this product for Mothers introducing their baby to a bottle. Nuby Products are BPA free which is wonderful one less thing to worry about as a parent.

The second Item received was the Soft Flex Squeeze Feeder. It is very well loved at our home, it makes feeding solids a breeze. It comes with a cover and it is great for Travel. You will find ours tucked into the diaper bag when we are out of the house. You simply fill it up with baby food and gently squeeze to get the food onto the spoon. We love it!!!

Aiden was 5 months old on November 12th 2009. I still can't beleive it!! Where does the time go?

So he is eating solids, loves Avocado, Bananas and Sweet Potato's the best. Yes at 5 months he has a preference, Absolutely loves his Jumparoo, hes put many miles on that thing!.

He is attempting to sit up unassisted. He is working hard on getting his two bottom teeth to "pop" They are sooo close, and he is having a hard time with teething. Aiden loves to hear his dad play the guitar and he will kick, giggle and gaze at Scott while he plays! He is starting to interact with is brothers more, and looks for them to Play with Him. He loves being Held and close to Mommy, Our Moby Wrap has been a life saver, and BACK Saver to me.. as he weighs 18lbs.

Aiden's Cloth Diapers have been De-Funked...Seriously...We have hard water, and the build up in the diapers was unreal. I was stressing over a wash routine that would eliminate the build-up and get rid of the STINK left in the inserts. This left me washing and then rinsing with calgon, every~other week stripping the diapers with dawn dish detergent... but it had to coincide with everything, when I was stripping the diapers I would need to make sure that we had nothing else going on that day.

I am hard core cloth diapering momma, build up was not going to stop me from using cloth diapers, but I was being held hostage on my diaper stripping days every other week.... THERE MUST BE AN EASIER WAY!!!!

I remember it like it was yesterday, It was a cold rainy morning in November, I was still in my pajamas and housecoat, when at the door was the postal delivery woman, with a package.. My Rockin' Green Has Arrived... I was so excited, I called my husband at work, who didn't really share my enthusiasm over cloth diaper detergent!!!

First Time User: the mission is to de-funk your diapers! To get rid of built up minerals and left over detergent do the following:
1. Fill your washer with hot water and 3 Tbsp of Rockin’ Green, along with your diapers.
2. Let it soak for approximately 30-60 minutes. Then launder as usual. If you have a HE machine, you may have to consult your manual but you can usually do a soak by pressing the start or pause button.
*Tip: Repeat this process anytime you need a good deep-cleaning. If your diapers have excessive buildup or residue, it may take a few soaks to get them in good condition.

~ I let the diapers soak for 1 hour only and 5 months of build up (lets face I never really had them build up free) came off. We are super absorbent, stink free, and looking forward to the next wash because Monkey Snacks Scent is sooo Yummy! I have to add though, after the was cycle there is no scent remaining on the diaper...the good news that means the detergent is working you don't want to smell anything on your diapers.

Washing diapers and clothing should not be a complicated ordeal. Forget everything that you have heard, and keep it simple. You don‘t need extra boosters or add-ons with Rockin’ Green

Don't let the STINK get you Down

I have been cloth diapering for a mere 5 months, I am no expert at all things fluff, but I have turned to the Internet and Cloth Diapering related blogs to answer a lot of Questions regarding what type to purchase, what to use for a newborn, what detergents to use, how to wash the diapers, and how to strip the diapers. One thing that I have most defiantly learned from all of this researching is.....That what works for one may not work for you. It was trial and error for me.
Knowing in the long run that Cloth Diapers will save you money, especially if you can use them on Babies to come, and then seeing the initial investment your putting into cloth diapers, you have to protect and take care of your investment...er...cloth diapers..see where I am going with this.

When battling the stink that attacked my cloth diapers, I was taken by surprise, I was not prepared for the Stink Factor... We live in a rural community, and have our own Well.. and we have HARD WATER.. Mineral build up in the diapers was causing a stink, the inserts were repelling and it got real bad real quick. I started Stripping the diapers on a very regular basis,I used Calgon in the rinse, I boiled the diapers in a stock pot,I made my husband turn up the temperature on our water heater..I still have an ongoing battle with the stinkies...

Just this week I used a detergent that has become a well know name in the cloth diapering community. Rockin'Green Detergent... let me tell you I am very happy with this detergent thus far. I did the recommended De-Funk of the diapers and the mineral build up is gone.. I am sure this detergent will make my cloth diaper stinkies disappear.. It is recommended for Hard Water which is what first attracted me to the detergent.

Like I said "It is a trial and error" Don't let the STINK get you down, don't be afraid to try different methods, hang in there and get rid of the stink..Where there is a will there is a WAY!!

PEACHES for Aiden

Peaches Yum yum yum. There are a few ways you can transform this peach into delicious puree for your wee little one. I used the steam method since I have a steamer... but you can do it in the oven as well..

First things first get washing.. wash your hands, wash the fruit and now you are all set to go. I took a paring knife and sliced an X into the skin of the peach, then I popped it into the steamer for 15 min or until soft. Take out and then peel ( scoring the X into the peel should make peeling easier). Then slice in half remove the pit and let the peaches cool. I use an immersion blender to puree, I have a beautiful Kitchen aid Blender, but I hate cleaning it after I use it, so I opt for the immersion blender. Puree food until you reach the desired consistency, Freeze in Ice Cube trays and hope your little one Enjoys!

I am looking forward to doing some fruit blends now that we have made and tried a variety of fruit.

Whats For Lunch....Food Safety Tips

Always wash your hands before and after you make lunch.
Remember to occasionally wash your lunch box or bag.
Wash all fruits and vegetables before preparing to eat them.
Keep meats, eggs, mayonnaise, and dairy products cool
Use frozen juice boxes or freezer packs to keep lunch cool.
Keep lunch boxes out of the sun and away from heat sources.
Hot foods must stay hot to be safe to eat.
Before adding food to an insulated container, preheat using hot water or chill with cold.
Label foods in the lunch box, so your child knows what they're eating, and what goes with what.
Wrap lettuce, tomatoes, carrot stick, and pickles separately from sandwiches or wraps to keep the bread or tortilla from becoming soggy.
Pack a salad dressing or dipping sauce in small reusable plastic containers.
Keep snacks portable by cutting them into bite-size pieces.
put pre-moistened wipes in their lunch to clean hands before and after lunch, or add a paper towel or napkin.

He seriously loves loves loves this bangle. It is great, I simply make sure that I am wearing this bangle anytime I leave the house with Aiden, then it is right there to keep him busy. I think that it is fantastic that it can go in the dishwasher (top rack) to be cleaned..

The only thing about sharing this bangle with Aiden is that I hardly have a chance to have it on. I will definitely be purchasing the pendant which comes in either the donut shape or heart, as well as a variety of solid colour and patterns.

H1N1

On Monday Morning I had a regular appointment with our family Dr. For Aiden's check up and Jacob Eczema.. She asked if we were getting our vaccines this week for the H1N1. This was the first week for Vaccines in PEI and the following list is who is available for the first round of vaccines.

Week of October 26th

Health care Workers
Household contacts of children less than six months
Children six months of age up to school entry
People with chronic conditions (under the age of 65)
Household contacts and care providers of people who are immune compromised
First Nations and Aboriginal Population

I told our family Doctor that I was on the fence regarding the vaccination, I was hearing both negative and positive things regarding the H1N1 Vaccine. I had a lot of Questions and she was super great and answered every single one.

On Wensday Jacob and I went and had our vaccines done, Seamus will get his through school on Nov 3, and Scott is just getting home today from being in LasVegas and he will go an get his vaccine the first of next week. I feel really comfortable with the decision we made for our family.

My advice to anyone trying to decide what to do..to get the H1N1 vaccine or not is get all the information ask questions if you are unsure. Only you can make the right decision for your family.

Seamus and Jacob, Aiden was snoozing and with all this teething business that we are going through with him... I live by the philosophy Do not wake a sleeping baby..even if it is the perfect opportunity for a photo with all three boys... I was not about to wake the guy..what a fierce couple of days...

Down to the waterfront to see the cruise ship that was in port and was getting ready to leave..

Now the boys are all tucked in to bed..in the big bed tonight.. daddy is off to vegas today till Thursday, when he is away I tuck the boys in with me, I like to have them all close when we are here without Scott..

Also today was a crazy day as soon as I got home from dropping Scott off at the Airport, I come home to find Ashton Vomitting he was pretty sick , once I got him cleaned up and settled down, I went to the basement to put his bedclothes in the wash to find our basement Flooded......and to top it all of the truck is acting wonky and I have to bring it to the dealership in the Am to have the mechanic look at it. I was never so grateful for the Shop Vac my husband gave to me for my birthday last year. I was not happy at the time mind you. but very grateful today.

Also lexi has been giving me a lot of attitude lately and especially today I am trying to deal with that situation in a positive way.. but I will leave that for another post

The Nibbler .. I was given this neat item from a friend of mine after Aid en was born, a month earlier and I had been asking her all sorts of questions about her sons Nuby Nibbler. Long Day

My day started really really early, I had to take my husband to the airport, let me rephrase that I wanted to take my husband to the airport, I didn't want him to take a cab..mainly because we live in a rural area and to take a cab to the airport would cost close to $40 and I am way to frugal.. So I get up and I drive him!!! Scott is off to Quebec City till Thursday, and then he is home till Sunday and then flying to Las Vegas.. Work Work Work... I really miss him when he is gone, he does travel quite a bit..

So with Scott away today I thought that it would be a great day to visit a close Friend of mine and her two boys today.. Her youngest is only 2 months old.. so it was a great opportunity to bring her all the clothing Aiden has outgrown. I always pass things along, mind you there are a few pieces that I can not bear to part with!!

It was great to get out and visit and catch up.. we are always saying how great it is to have a friend who does not mind talking about baby poop..

On the way home I stopped by a community park and Jacob ran around and played on the play yard. He was so determined to climb this rock wall..
