Green Acre Designs Diaper Review and Give Away

As I am writing this review my little guy Aiden is snug in bed with no other than his GAD(Green Acre Designs) Cloth Diaper on..... and am I worried that he will spring a leak through the night? Not in the least. I am 100% sure that GAD will stand up to this heavy wetter.

You see I have been given the opportunity to review a GAD, and believe me it has seen alot of butt this week.

I was a little worried when I received the "Fluff Mail" containing this beautiful diaper... I for sure thought that it would be too small. When deciding on what size to get for Aiden I used the size chart on the GAD website, I felt confident that I chose the right size... Medium for my "big" little guy...the diaper just seamed so small.

After trying the Medium on Aiden I was shocked that it fit with room to spare (we are on the second snaps) This diaper is sooo Trim Fitting.

Don't let the STINK get you Down

I have been cloth diapering for a mere 5 months, I am no expert at all things fluff, but I have turned to the Internet and Cloth Diapering related blogs to answer a lot of Questions regarding what type to purchase, what to use for a newborn, what detergents to use, how to wash the diapers, and how to strip the diapers. One thing that I have most defiantly learned from all of this researching is.....That what works for one may not work for you. It was trial and error for me.
Knowing in the long run that Cloth Diapers will save you money, especially if you can use them on Babies to come, and then seeing the initial investment your putting into cloth diapers, you have to protect and take care of your investment...er...cloth diapers..see where I am going with this.

When battling the stink that attacked my cloth diapers, I was taken by surprise, I was not prepared for the Stink Factor... We live in a rural community, and have our own Well.. and we have HARD WATER.. Mineral build up in the diapers was causing a stink, the inserts were repelling and it got real bad real quick. I started Stripping the diapers on a very regular basis,I used Calgon in the rinse, I boiled the diapers in a stock pot,I made my husband turn up the temperature on our water heater..I still have an ongoing battle with the stinkies...

Just this week I used a detergent that has become a well know name in the cloth diapering community. Rockin'Green Detergent... let me tell you I am very happy with this detergent thus far. I did the recommended De-Funk of the diapers and the mineral build up is gone.. I am sure this detergent will make my cloth diaper stinkies disappear.. It is recommended for Hard Water which is what first attracted me to the detergent.



Like I said "It is a trial and error" Don't let the STINK get you down, don't be afraid to try different methods, hang in there and get rid of the stink..Where there is a will there is a WAY!!

Cloth Diaper Swap

Amy from Motherhood and Miscellany had my name and today I found some Fluff mail in my mail box..I received not one but two of the Hugga Buns!!!, Red in a size small and aqua in size medium.. I tried the small on my son this evening and he is a big and chunky boy he is 4 months old, and the small fit great with room to spare! Wild Child For Babies Reveiw and Give Away

At our home we are all about the fluffy butt! I love finding fun prints, colours and styles of diapers for my guy. I recently came across these super cute, very affordable, well made handcrafted items for babies. Wild Child for Babies I placed a custom order for 4 size Med pocket diapers and I was amazed that within days the order was ready and then arrived at our mailbox well before I expected it. These diapers are lined with a micro suede and come with a reusable liner. ( Love the concept of the liner which makes for easy removal of the poo). Melissa has a wide variety of prints including the popular prints such as ooga booga, and robots. The insert is made from a bamboo fleece which you can fold in half or in thirds.

All in all we love these diapers, they are very absorbent, super cute and very well made.

Now on to the fleece soaker. They are available in the side snapping or the pull up style. We choose to go with the pull up style and are very happy with them, although I will be ordering a few more and plan to try one of the side snapping soakers. Again we had a custom order and were quite pleased with the products we received. The added protection in the wet zone is a great feature we use these covers over fitted diapers for added nighttime protection for our heavy wetter.
