Enjoy them whe they are young

I have been told many times to enjoy my kids when they are young. I try hard to enjoy them but sometimes it can be not so joyous when the laundry is on the go!, the sink is full of dishes, you have stepped on a lego for the third time in one hour and are telling the kids to pick up the toys..

Yesterday we were having a quiet day at home with Baby Aiden I am planning on having many quiet days at home for the next few weeks.. anyhoo.. Jacob was outdoors playing in the clay.. He has a sandbox full of beach sand, but no he has to play in this RED PEI Clay which is so hard to get out of clothing.... When brother Seamus got home from school both of them were in this little spot of clay... 2 boys X clay X the garden hose......
That night as I am getting my kids in and out of the bath and ready for bed... hearing the boys talk about all the mud, and seeing their sleepy little eyes, and the thin layer of red clay going down the drain of the tube.. My kids are enjoying being kids, as long as I continue to pause and take a few moments every day to laugh and connect with my boys about their day I am sure that nothing else will matter.... laundry, toys on the floor, dishes.....

Baby Aiden is Here

Our family has grown by two feet. Aiden James Edwin Judson arrived at 2:43am On Friday June 12, 2009. He weighed 8 lbs 211/4 inches long. He has a full head of dark black hair.

Labour and Delivery

My husband and I decided to go to the Hospital around 10pm Thursday evening. I had been feeling crampy since the morning. I was having contractions every 5 minuets. I was able to talk through the contractions. We got into labour and delivery and was monitored for 20 minuets. The Dr on call checked me and I was 2-3 cm, She told me it would be best if I headed home and Laboured at home she didn't think I would be back till the next day. Going home and sleeping in my own bed sounded great.

I felt a little nuts that in my third pregnancy I came to the hospital to soon, that one of the nurses said something to me about false labour. I started to not trust the signs my body was giving to me telling me I was indeed in Labour.

As we were leaving Labour and Delivery I had a bad contraction and stopped in the Hall to hang on to the rail. We live 15 min from our hospital it was a long drive back home. The contractions seemed more intense, I started to doubt that I was in labour. When we got home Scott ran a hot tub for me. He got into bed to get some rest. I got in the tub and the contractions seemed to be comming one after the other each one more intense. I barley got myself out of the tub and into our room. I could not get comfortable. I was in pain asking Scott what we should do. He finally said to me.. Mel listen to your body! If we have to drive in and back home 15 times than we will. He called the hospital and we were on our way.

At 1:30am we arrived at Labour and Delivery. We got hooked up to the monitors and the contractions were showing good and strong. The nurse checked me and I was 3-4cm dilated. The DR came in and we were talking about pain relief. I was clearly in pain and trying to breath through the contractions it just overwhelmed me this time they were so intense. I figured it would be a long labour so I asked for something that would let me get some rest. then as I progressed I would want an Epidural.

The Dr wanted to brake my waters before I got any pain relief medications. My waters were broken and there was mecconium in the fluid. The Dr then recommended that I get an epidural as opposed to the other Pain relief. this was at 2:30am. The anesthesiologist was with another patient and I was the next on the list. The contractions were coming stronger and stronger and they were continuous.

The nurse came in and checked me again and there was no time for an epidural I was fully dilated. I was in shock, pain, and I was terrified. Just as all of this was happening the anesthesiologist came in and was going to explain why he couldn't give the Epidural. The poor guyI Just looked at him and said "Look if you can't help me then you don't need to be in here".

We were rushed down the hall and into the delivery room. My baby was born at 2:43 am. 1 hour and 13 minuets after arriving at the hospital. No epidural or pain relief. Two pushes and he was delivered. He weighed 8 lbs even, 21 and 1/4 inches long.

Aiden James Edwin Judson

We came home Saturday Morning from the hosptial. I am looking forward to our routine and day to day getting back to the norm.

My Due Date has come and gone.

My Due Date was June 8, 2009, Monday. and to be honest I was not expecting to make it till the end of May.. Surprise I am still pregnant with not even a hint of the pending Labour and Delivery. I have a doctors appointment in the AM tomorrow and let me tell ya I am going to give him a piece of my mind...I know I know not the Dr's fault, but lets face it I am 40weeks + 2 days pregnant, I can get away with border line irrational and I have to take it out on someone.

My youngest son Jacob my little button pusher has been pushing many buttons these last few days. I do not have the patients with him so thankfully my husband has taken some vacation time and has been home to whisk my little button pusher away when he gets out of line. There are things that I will not tolerate from my kids. Back Talking, Not being Respectful, Lying,Being Rude, and just not being a Kind Person. WELL at the age of 4 button pusher managed to attempt all of the above. Very thankful for husband to step in and handle the situations as they arose. We both have our own ways to handle the kids. Scott has a way of talking it out with the boys he is very understanding and try's to show them how their actions affect other people. Lately my approach has been to act a little CRAZY and that has actually been working for example.

Jacob is playing with Lego's, Seamus the older brother comes into living room and takes over the Lego table, before Jake can even Scream for Mommy.

Mommy: That's right Seamus, You just go right ahead and play with the Lego's your brother was playing with, that just seams right.

Seamus jumps up from the Lego's and walks away from the table not wanting to touch the table..

Mommy: Now Seamus you wanted the Lego's so badly you should go right ahead and play.

Seamus: No I don't want to play the Lego's.

Jacob at this time has not cried or made one peep since his scream for justice.
Jacob to Seamus: if you just ask I would let you play.

Seamus to Jacob: Jakey can I play Lego's/

Oh Happy Days...this pregnancy craziness will hopefully not last much longer...

My Guy

My boys are extremely lucky to have such a great dad, as am I to have a wonderful husband. Scott was getting ready to go to work and our son Jacob who is 4 went in to say good morning and asked his dad to stay home today. Jake went on to explain that there was lots that they could do together. Scott went to work and within 45 min he was back home. He took a vacation day to hang out with his little man.

Jacob was thrilled. They set up the kiddie pool, went fishing, out for Slushes, and had a great Father and Son Day together.

Thank you Scott for keeping Jacob busy today and out from under my feet. I was able to get the floors scrubbed, laundry put away, some baking done. I thoroughly enjoyed my alone time today. Our new baby will be here within days and alone time will be non existent for the next few months.

I loved you yesterday, love you still, Always have, Always Will!!
